Description about my project

Title: Development of Weather Monitoring System using ALTERA DE 2 Board (Ambient Pollution and Wind Speed Measurement) 


Project description: In this project, students are required to gain a knowledge about electronics equipment used in weather monitoring system specifically for Ambient Pollution and Wind Speed Measurement. They also have to do some research on how to used ALTERA DE2 Board and study about verilog HDL coding. At the end of Sem I, students are expected to produced their own schematic diagram for the sensor part. During SEM II, student should be able to construct their own weather monitoring system and verify it by using ALTERA DE 2 Board.

So basically this project 2 phase of work. The first one is to create circuit to detect ambient pollution and then the other one is the wind speed. For ambient pollution, I decided to use gas pollution detection method because it easy to collaborate with wind speed project.The second phase is about writing coding for FPGA in Verilog HDL words. This coding will display the reading at FPGA.

For the first phase, I have done creating the circuit. First, I research the suitable circuit to use in this project by browsing internet. After choosing the circuit, by using ISIS PROTEUS 7 profressional software. After done drawing the circuit schematic, I convert the schematic circuit into PCB layer board using ARES PROTEUS 7 sofware.Because of PROTEUS 7 Professional have serious issue with Window 7 (don't have compatibility to support Window 7 and easy to crash), EAGLE Win software have been use to view the file.

For the next post, I will show and explain about the schematic circuit diagram.
